Study & Support of Torah

We are charged to keep all 613 commandments. Often people feel a special affinity to one or two, perhaps charity, honesty, or one of the holidays. They tend to focus more energy and time on their favorite mitzvah.

But there is one mitzvah that we all need to take part in - connecting to Torah through study and support.

The singular "you" is used in the command to fashion all the parts of the Tabernacle. When it comes to making the Ark of the Covenant, which symbolizes Torah, and in which every Jew must take part, the plural "they" is used.  This implies we all have to study and support Torah. 

"And they shall make an ark . . ." Exodus 25:10
